Passion can be defined in a number of ways: an intense desire or enthusiasm to do something, a strong interest, a fire in your belly.
Passion is different for everyone. For many stylists, colorists, and beauty experts, their passion comes from the desire to showcase their technical skills and use their creativity to make a difference in someone’s life.
This profession is rewarding in so many ways, but most stylists will agree that the greatest reward is the ability to make a positive difference in how our clients look, and more importantly, how they feel.
Let’s face it—sometimes we can become complacent in life; in our relationships, our health, and our work. The important thing is to catch it and turn it around. How can we reignite the passion when it starts to fade?
We all know that today’s clients come with much higher expectations and seek a complete experience. There is so much more beauty content available to them…it can become overwhelming and even discouraging to salon professionals.
But, it can also be very inspiring! Exposing yourself to new things will help you grow professionally and spark your creativity. Getting out of your comfort zone and not being afraid to evolve is the best way to shake things up. This is what helps everyone, no matter their occupation, push the envelope to remain relevant.
We all need something to fuel us and lead us in the right direction. We often turn to outside sources for ideas on how to improve different aspects of our lives, such as relationships and health. Why not do the same for your career? Success can be contagious if you open yourself to it!
Let yourself be inspired by those who are doing it right. Maybe it’s a colleague, a blogger, a beauty retailer, or a local business. Look at what’s working well for them and think of how you can apply it to your business.
