As we enter the New Year, it’s time to reflect on 2016 and learn from our actions. What has worked well? What didn’t work out at all? One thing that can always use improvement is your salon’s social media strategy.
We know workloads won’t die down and clients won’t get less demanding, so we’ve created 3 resolutions that are easy to follow and keep!
I resolve to pay attention to my social media.
This can mean something different for everyone, but the bottom line is that your salon’s social media could use a little more TLC. If social media is something you never even think about, spend some time looking at what other salons are doing successfully. Keep an eye out for ideas that speak to you and that can be easily incorporated into your own social presence.
I resolve to focus on quality, not quantity.
We use social media to be inspired, to learn and to feel good. Okay, and to brag a little, too! Whenever you post an image online, make sure it is clear, in focus and well-lit. Remember, you want to feature beautiful hair, not someone’s Starbucks cup or a half-eaten bagel in the corner! Everything you post online is a reflection of your business, so pay attention to what your posts are saying about your salon.
I resolve to try new things.
There is always room to grow and experiment, which is what makes social media so much fun! This resolution can be met in many different ways. It can be as simple as establishing a weekly posting schedule or creating a social-media-only contest for clients. If you want to get really adventurous, try a Facebook live tutorial for your most requested hairstyle!
Sticking to even just one of these resolutions will help grow your social media in 2017. Do what works best and feels right for you and your salon. The most important thing is for you to be creative, consistent and have fun!
