With wedding season in full swing, it’s time to think about promoting your bridal business.
When planning a wedding, couples are faced with a multitude of decisions they will need to make: venue, dress, catering, flowers, entertainment, photographer, and of course, hair and makeup.
Booking hair and makeup is often one of the last elements in the wedding planning timeline, but it’s far from the least important!
As we know, it’s all about the bride! So how can you attract and capture her attention? You can assume that as her regular hairstylist, she will book you for her big day. But more and more brides are looking for an experienced bridal beauty team.
There are many marketing tools you can use to set yourself apart. Here are a few of our favorites:
Wedding Websites & Apps
52% of couples use a planning website or app, such as The Knot, Wedding Wire, or Junebug. Advertising your business on one of these sites can expand your reach to potential bridal customers. The Knot, for example, has over 12 million unique visitors per month.
If you want to choose this as one of your advertising avenues, do your research first. Be selective and ensure that it’s the right platform to connect with your target bridal clients. Certain markets are saturated, which means you could end up at the end of the site’s search results. Explore the various advertising plans offered; sometimes paying an extra $50 to be featured front and center is worth it!
Using your Instagram or Facebook pages to connect with brides can be effective and low-cost. This wedding season, make it a priority to create a catalog of your bridal work—whether it’s actual brides, wedding guests, or inspiration looks.
It’s important that your photos are high-quality. Add a clause to your bridal contracts that allows you to utilize images taken by the wedding photographer. Post them throughout the summer, as well as periodically, to attract brides who are searching for their future bridal glam team. Use hashtags that will make it easy for local brides to find you, such as #manhattanbride and #manhattanwedding.
Reviews are extremely important and relevant for any business today. The more positive reviews exist for your bridal services, the more confident brides will be in choosing you. In order to get more reviews, you simply need to ask for them! An easy way to do this is by sending a thank you email to your bridal clients. Not just to the bride, but to everyone in the bridal party as well.
Make the process super simple by providing 1 or 2 links to your preferred review sites (i.e. your Facebook page, Google reviews, Yelp, etc.). Sending a small gift to the bride can also go a long way in getting that extra review!
