It’s been well established that any business, salons included, must be online in some shape or form. But what shape is right for you and your business?
There are so many platforms available, which can prove to be intimidating when beginning to build your online presence. Where should you start?
Go where your customers are!
We frequently talk about knowing who your target audience or ideal client is. This is the first, and most important, aspect to focus on when deciding between Facebook or Instagram or the plethora of other social media platforms. You don’t want to put energy into something that is not reaching the right people. Figuring out where to direct your efforts is key.
So, where exactly are your customers? Let’s take a look at who is using which platforms.
Having a website is an absolute must! In addition to your website, we recommend using 1 or 2 social media platforms that speak to your ideal client. If your target customer is a 40 year old woman, your best bet for reaching her is Facebook, which is used by 83% of all women and 84% of people aged 30-49 in the United States. Instagram on the other hand, is only used by 33% of that same age group.
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution, but the more you know about your customers’ habits, the easier it will be to reach the clients you really want in your chair!
