The stylist is the best person to ask for a review, as they have spent a significant amount of time with the client and have likely formed a bond. Motivate your staff to ask their guests for reviews by creating an incentive: The stylist with the most reviews at the end of the month wins a cash prize.
MAKE IT AUTOMATIC
Set up your email system to automatically prompt guests to write a review after their visit. This is the perfect time to ask for a review, as the appointment and overall experience is still fresh in the client’s mind. Don’t forget to indicate where you want your clients to post their reviews (on your Facebook page, Yelp, Google, etc.).
Every so often, provide a complimentary service or product to thank a loyal client for leaving a review. Rewarding guests will encourage them to post more reviews in the future and is a nice way to show you appreciate their business. You can also apply this reward system to guests who tag your salon on social media; a great before-and-after photo can have even more impact than a written review!
